Actions you Must Take to Proceed to Stage 3
As proof that you have completed stage 2, you must have completed the following:
No 1: Identify real problems worth solving
Observe frustrations in your daily life or industry. Talk to people and list their biggest challenges. Note problems that are frequent, painful, and people are willing to pay to solve.
No. 2: Brainstorm and document multiple business ideas
Write down at least 5–10 ideas based on problems you identified. Don’t judge them yet, just get them out of your head.
No. 3: Evaluate and select your best idea
Score each idea using criteria like profitability, market size, ease of entry, personal fit, and competition level. Narrow down to 1–2 top ideas that have strong potential.
No. 4: Research the market and competition
Search Google, YouTube, Reddit and social media for existing solutions. Identify what competitors are doing right or missing. Define your potential customer segments and buying behaviour.
No. 5: Validate your idea with real people
Conduct 5–10 customer interviews using The Mom Test approach. Ask about their experiences and struggles, not your idea. Look for patterns in responses to confirm demand.
No. 6: Define your unique value proposition (UVP)
Summarize what makes your idea different and why customers should care using this simple formula: [Target audience] who struggle with [problem] will love [solution] because it [unique benefit].
No. 7: Build early traction
Create a simple landing page or social media test post describing your offer. Collect sign-ups, pre-orders, or engagement data to measure interest. Adjust based on feedback, keep iterating until you see traction.
